SunFlowers

 Finished reading, "The Secret Life of Sunflowers", by Marta Molnar.  A historical fiction containing a glimpse into the life of Vincent Van Gogh.  At the center of this story is his deep love of flowers, especially sunflowers. At his darkest times  he drew strength and comfort by observing them.  Vincent said, "They turn to the sun in gratitude. Yellow is the color of the sun. We survive the cold and darkness of the night in the hope the sun will rise in the morning."

After finishing reading this book I went out to dinner and found a patch of sunflowers in an alleyway behind the restaurant. This read left me with a new understanding and appreciation of the power of sunflowers.
